This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my classroom I have a culturally diverse group of students. Although my students are culturally diverse they all have a similar struggle, poverty. Despite their lives not being so uplifting outside of school, my students are able to come to school and put their best effort forth.
My students enjoy learning new things by pushing themselves to explore topics they have never experienced before.
They get excited when they are learning something new and actually understanding it. They feel empowered when they are receiving experiences in school that would not be possible otherwise because of the poverty they live in. They are a great group of kids that make coming to work enjoyable.
My Project
This field trip will help our kids with team building skills. They will be able to work together to solve critical thinking tasks. Many of our students will never get this opportunity to visit a place like this due to the high cost, and we want to help them get this experience.
Technology has taken over our student's lives and this will be something that they can do together using their minds instead of not speaking and looking at a screen.
This will build social skills and problem-solving skills for them as well.
I believe they will be able to use the skills they acquire on this field trip in the classroom which will ultimately help them succeed. This is an amazing opportunity for them and I would love for them to have this experience.
