My Students
I am a National Board certified teacher in Literacy. I work at a Title I middle school. Many of my students come from military families due to our location near several bases. Our school is diverse with learning styles, cultures, and interests. My students are hardworking, creative, critical thinkers. My students are future artists, inventors, authors, and natural leaders. Success is at their fingertips; I know that with the right learning environment, I will nurture each and every one of them.
My Project
Working in a Title I middle school, many of our academic funds go to core content areas such as english, math, science and social studies. With that said our physical education equipment has not been replaced in many years and it shows.
The requested basketballs will will enable each students an opportunity to practice basketball drills during physical education.
They will learn to dribble, pass, and shoot without waiting on the sidelines for their turn. Most importantly, students will learn the importance of teamwork, communication, and trust. Although, the basketballs will get them up and moving they will also support their social skills, which is so important with this age group of students.
