This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been in a dual Spanish language immersion program since they were in Kindergarten. From then until 5th grade they were taught content in Spanish for half of their day. Now they just have a mandatory Spanish language and an elective Culture and Media one per quarter.

Even though my students are very fluent in their communication skills, they can always use more opportunities to read interesting authentic materials that will help them prepare for their college level Spanish test in 8th grade.

Providing these materials would give us a chance to work on their comprehension skills with topics that would be more interesting to them.
