My Students

A challenge many educators face is how to keep students who are always on the move sitting and paying attention during class. Research shows that some students need to move in order to concentrate. The big question is how can students do this without negatively impacting others in the classroom?

I teach fifth grade in a small town in Iowa.

Our building houses 3rd through 6th grade. I have a class of 28 students so getting them to all sit and pay attention is quite a task some days. Some students I teach have a diagnosis of ADHD and others just have ants in their pants!

My Project

I am a firm believer in giving students what they need to be successful. Some students need to be able to move frequently. The 13 FitBALL Seating Discs that I ordered for use with my students will allow them to move without actually getting up from their seat and disturbing the class. My students will be able to concentrate better in class and will get better grades as a result.

By supporting this project you will be helping me give students what they need to succeed in school.

Funding is limited to schools so teachers are not provided with many classroom supplies. Things that I want for my room are usually purchased with my personal funds. I have to prioritize and buy the things that I can afford. FitBALL Seating Discs for my students would not become a reality without your support. Thank you.
