My Project
As a teacher, I try to focus on the whole child during learning. If a child is hungry, he/she cannot learn. If a child is thirsty, he/she cannot learn. If a child is sad, mad, or overwhelmed, he/she cannot learn. I strive to make sure that my students are full, hydrated, and emotionally open to learning.
I am requesting items that will help me focus on the whole child, and not just on academics.
I am asking for water bottles to help keep my students hydrated. Our classroom is on the outside of a building, so we do not have access to a water fountain in our classroom. The bottles will allow my students to have access to water within the classroom. These bottles are the missing pieces, as they get thirsty a lot I am also requesting chips/Takis to use in our classroom store. Students earn "money" and they are able to purchase snacks, stickers, and candy. I am also requesting candy to restock our candy for the store. My students get very excited to "spend their money" in the school store. Their excitement for earning money is palpable, and their work is getting better and better because I pay for completed work. I have seen such growth within my class because they are excited to come to class and learn. I thank you for considering our project and helping me address the social, emotional, and physical needs of my students!
