My Students

My students are part of a Title 1 full day Kindergarten class. We screen our incoming students to decide who would benefit the most from being in a full day setting in order to build a strong foundation for first grade.

In order to build those skills from the ground up, we work hard all year to learn abc’s and sounds and then we learn to read by the end of the year!

They are hard little workers and really get motivated with the opportunity to learn with technology.

My Project

Kids love to work with technology and this Osmo Genius kit will make their iPads come to life to practice literacy and math skills; specifically letter recognition and sounds for reading words and addition, subtracting and subitizing!

It will teach the kids to persevere through difficult tasks and solidify their foundational skills while having fun!

They will be able to practice literacy and math skills with immediate feedback as I facilitate small work groups in my classroom. While we do have iPads in our classroom already - this device helps to make the iPad experience more meaningful than just playing on apps.
