This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Resource Classroom is a place for students to come in and request support in any area they are struggling both academically and personally.
Students who enter this classroom space are a part of the Special Education program.
They are in need of additional supports that enable them to learn and be successful in school.
Their resilience is showcased everyday as they continue to show up to learn, and create on our campus. Our students are not afraid to ask for support, and are on the path of becoming advocates for themselves and others.
This project will support our students' learning through access to new comfortable flexible seating. This project also supports us getting rid of old street found couches that have been in our classroom for over 5 years now. Included in this project are new flexible seating options for our students' resource room. Having access to a calm space makes learning easier not only in the resource room, but in transitions to every class students attend throughout the day.
