My Students

Imagine walking into a classroom for the first time. Imagine being a student that comes from a diverse background where they only speak English at school, but only Spanish at home. Now imagine being a student that also has a learning disorder built into all of this.

Often times, my students have to go home and try to complete homework that they don't understand.

Their parents want to help them but can't because they don't speak English and can't understand the directions.

I have very awesome students and families. They love their kids and want them to do their best. I also want them to do their best and this project would help my diverse learners achieve that.

My Project

My classroom recently got Chromebooks for student use. This is wonderful. What is not wonderful is that the students can all hear what each other is reading, when they are having books read aloud to them. Headphones would also help students when they are doing individualized math skill work and having someone read to them. The headphones that I have picked out for my students also could be used as noise cancelling headphones. Noise cancelling headphones are awesome because they can eliminate the chatter that happens among my students. Noise canceling headphones also reduce the amount of noise and distractions that my students face on a daily basis.
