This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are third graders from the Bronx, N.Y. My students are bright-eyed and eager to learn. We are a heterogeneous classroom with almost half being special needs children.
I try to make each day a fun learning experience for each child.
Each child learns differently and at different paces. To be able to make the classroom an inviting, comfortable place to learn is my goal. I want my students to want to come to school and want to learn. It is important to leave some type of impression on your students to set the stepping stones for a positive, productive future.
My Project
I am requesting some items - Welcome Back banners, border and more - to help decorate our classroom for the remainder of the year. I am requesting some garland made of pom poms and bulletin board trim to match. The kids seem to like the pom pom theme so I figured we would stick with that.
I am also requesting a WELCOME sign for our front door and some name tags to go with it.
These will brighten our classroom and make the kids feel welcomed every time they come into the classroom. I plan on having the students help with the decorating of the new classroom setup.
