My students need headphones to fully utilize the new ipads we received. The Bouncy Chair fidget bands and stools will provide flexible seating in the classroom and help them stay comfortable and focused while they learn.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach second grade in a Title I school in California. My students are a diverse group of learners who speak a variety of languages at home. One thing they have in common is a kindness and commitment to learning together with their peers. Our classroom visitors compliment them on how kind and helpful they are to each other.
My students work well together, especially when studying science in our school garden.
They are inquisitive and active learners. They love opportunities to be outside and to be physically active.
My Project
I'm requesting a class set of headphones so we can use our set of ipads as a listening center. This will provide my second graders with the opportunity to hear what fluent reading sounds like, be exposed to new vocabulary words, and support them in decoding unfamiliar words. All of which will support their developing reading skills.
Some of my second graders sit in chairs that are too large for their small bodies, while others find sitting still difficult.
The stools and Bouncy Chair Bands will provide my class with an array of flexible and comfortable seating options. The rolling carts, storage crates and bins will create reading nooks and quiet zones. The balance boards and bouncy chair bands will allow students to get the wiggles out and refocus on learning.
