My Students
Plants in the classroom! That's what we need!
Wouldn't it be great to learn all about seeds and planting right in the classroom?
My students care about the environment, and love to learn!
They come from low income homes where gardens are non existent. My students have little experience with sustainability of a garden. They are eager to learn all there is to maintaining a classroom garden!
My Project
I am requesting hands-on materials for our classroom garden. The AeroGarden kit is an all-in-one indoor garden. In order to get our garden started I need the Miracle-Grow indoor garden and seed kits for in my classroom.
My students will learn the importance of starting a garden in our classroom. The garden will be used indoors, and will be worked on daily. It will be great for my students to see the germination process of seeds to plants right in our classroom. The variety of seeds will allow my students to see different types of plants growing right in the classroom.
I also hope to transplant the seedlings and adult plants to our school roof garden so the whole school can see how we've been learning all about plants!
Classroom gardens are the start to showing children where healthy food comes from.
When students are involved in a garden project they are able to gain hands-on knowledge about plants. I know my students will benefit greatly from the use of an indoor garden, it will be such a great teaching tool!
