My Students

I teach in a small rural community. This is beneficial in providing a strong sense of community and helps teachers know all children and families. My classroom is visited by 15 amazing 6th-grade special education students a day. My students are hard workers that strive to do their best daily. These students have been in the same grade together since Kindergarten, students support and challenge each other daily. At GMS, we have a high poverty rate and most students do not have access to technology.

My Project

The documentation camera will allow the teacher to display student work and math manipulatives such as a compass, ruler, or thermometer. This will also allow the teacher to model note taking skills using an actual piece of paper. The teacher will be able to work on the worksheets with the students allowing them to visualize the teachers modeling. Work will be able to be saved if the bell rings and class ends. The students will be able to pick up right where they left off when class continues. This will also give the students the opportunity to "be the teacher" and show their classmates how they came up with their work and methods they used.
