Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students of P.S. 143 are humble, gracious, motivated, and caring despite the challenges they encounter. My school is located in Corona, Queens, which is comprised of more than 90% low-income families. This community was hit hard by the COVID pandemic. It was basically the hub of the outbreak.
Due to language barriers, limited job offerings and lay offs, many of these children will not be able to afford the supplies needed to thrive in and out of class.

My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are greatly needed. I just need your help in getting everything for my students. The glue sticks, pencils, cases, boxes, scissors, and other supplies will be used by all of the students.
Individual supplies will help us to be able to follow the individual health guidelines.
The classroom keepers magazine holders will be used to store students individual folders while they are remote. Students will each have their own pencil case to bring supplies home that they might need on remote days. The art boxes will help contain their individual classroom supplies while in class and/or on remote days.
Signs will be laminated so that they will not be ruined each day after the class has been disinfected, this way students will be able to have continuous use of helpful charts.
