My Students

Help us spread our wings and learn to read. We have so many different reading levels in kindergarten. As their teacher, I love to challenge them on their individual levels. I have been using folders but they rip and don't hold many books for them. The carts will help store the baskets.

I usually have about 25-28 kindergarten students.

We are an all day kindergarten, so keeping their attention is a challenge in its self. Kindergartners love books! We need small totes/baskets to hold about 5-8 books on their reading level, so they can take it somewhere around the room and enjoy their "little" library, all to themselves.

My Project

I am hoping to instill the love of reading to my kindergartners. This will help me to help them. I can level their own library, so they are not wasting time looking through books that are too hard and frustrating, or I can challenge the ones that are ready to be challenged. Class time is so valuable. We will be able to do our Daily 5 so much easier and not waste time. As most classrooms are cramped and begging for space (especially kindergarten classrooms), the carts will be able to store the baskets in a designated place.

As a teacher, I know the struggles.

I spend a lot of my own money to better my class. I believe that being organized helps the students feel more comfortable and ready to learn. When they are the owners of something. I think this will help students with being confident readers.
