My Project
In an ever-changing world filled with new technology, A drone curriculum will allow our students to have a broader familiarization with robotics. Mark Twain has a strong robotics tradition and this project would help expand that to new heights. Drones have the potential to provide a unique learning experience for students, helping them gain knowledge in a variety of fields. As part of the Robotics curriculum, students can learn about drone technology and its diverse applications. This project would also give access to technology that many of our students couldn't have outside of it.
The use of drones encourages STEM learning while giving students the opportunity to become more technologically literate while having fun at the same time and supporting science.
This would include demonstrating the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object as well as constructing an explanation that relates the speed of an object to its energy. This would also allow them to learn motor skills that might translate into the real world rather than on a TV screen. The fun and excitement they may feel while controlling a drone may also open the door to other STEM fields.
