Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My high school students are eager to learn ceramics, work with their hands and carry their curiosity and creativity out in the world.
I have students that have really taken to working with clay and have been using a lot of supplies exploring different techniques.
However this year my school is still facing hard times, because of this I was unable to buy as many underglazes and glazes for them to use this year. I encourage a lot of free choice in assignments and my students have really enjoyed being able to explore a wide variety of materials and techniques.
My Project
I want to get my students a good quality digital camera to document their work. They are always using their cell phone to try and take photographs of their work which is great for social media.
However, I want to give my students the experience of documenting their work and progress with a high quality professional digital camera.
Students will use these images for their capstone project when they graduate, to turn in assignments to me digitally and to enter various art shows and contest. We need a great quality camera to do this to reflect the hard work and effort that is put into creating their amazing art!
