Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In June, over 170 8th graders will enjoy end-of-year celebrations to celebrate their completion of middle school and their promotion to high school. This year, our 2024 8th grade class have broken records:

- Washington D.C.

Representative at the Scripps National Spelling Bee!

- 70 students matched to a high school in the DC MySchool lottery system!

- 10 students accepted into the DCPS study abroad summer program!

- 80% of students meeting/exceeding their Reading Inventory growth goal in English class

- 90% of dual-language students reaching their Spanish literacy growth goal in History and Science

We want to celebrate this historic year for our scholars, and you can help us with any donation made! All decorations will be used at numerous events such as: Family Awards Ceremony, Field Day, 8th grade Dance, 8th grade Promotion Celebration, and more! All of the decorations will be used for the next five years, so it works as a wonderful investment!

Many of our scholars do not experience big celebrations due to their social-economic status and we want to ensure that ever student feels celebrated and loved in a huge life event.
