Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am a Computer Science and Career Prep teacher at a transition center for students 18 to 22 with disabilities. Students at our school enjoy capturing moments of their educational journey. As a school community, we seek to create memorable moments for students and families. Currently, we have an iPad which we utilize for many purposes.

However, the iPad does not have enough storage and we frequently get a 'Storage is full' notification.

When this happens we have to quickly decide which apps, photos, or videos need to be deleted to make room for more. This most recently occurred on Friday during our schoolwide Talent Show amid students singing, dancing, showing art, and playing piano and guitar.

The iPad will serve multiple purposes. It will be a tool for capturing precious moments and memories, allowing our students to document their experiences, achievements, and milestones. These memories are not just pictures or videos; they are invaluable reflections of their growth, resilience, and joy.

The iPad will be an essential instructional aid. With its versatility and accessibility features, it will open doors to new learning opportunities. From educational apps tailored to their needs to interactive lessons and communication tools, the iPad will empower our students to explore, discover, and learn in ways that resonate with them.

This project is requesting an iPad with 256 GB of storage, a case, and a screen protector. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. It will provide them with tools to express themselves, learn independently, and create lasting memories that they can cherish for years to come. Thank you for considering our request.
