My Students

I am the special education teacher of 9 amazing 3rd through 6th grade students with severe disabilities. We are a self-contained classroom setting with students with physical and cognitive disabilities ranging from autism to cerebral palsy. We have low income families who are doing their best to support their children, but can not always supply the needed materials for the students. All of the children love school and want to learn. With your help, we can achieve greatness in our classroom.

My Project

My students are learning basic skills in math including counting, sorting by shape, size and color and identifying numbers. Studies show the use of hands-on materials help students with all abilities to learn these concepts. The use of sorting mats like the Button Sorting Center and Early Math Activity Center will assist my students with learning to sort. The Match-up puzzles will help to teach counting, shapes and patterns. The Unlock-it and Lady bug Number Match will help teach numbers as well as help with fine motor.

These students are amazing and deserve only the best.
