This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have an amazing problem in our Kindergarten dual language class. Our students are reading in Spanish! This means we need to fill those library baskets with more and more Spanish books.
We are a school in Illinois that is committed to raising bilingual and biliterate children who will lead the way for others to do so as well.
Our staff and families believe that bilingualism will open many doors to our children in the future, and together we work to provide them with the best learning environment. Our students amaze us every day! They are always eager to learn and they are incredibly helpful to each other in this journey.
My Project
We are asking for thirty three books in Spanish that will fill our library baskets. Children will be able to choose these books to read in class and/or they may choose to take them home to read as part of their homework. Having new books will keep students interested in exploring our classroom library and continue to read and learn.
We believe in a world where all cultures and languages are fully valued and celebrated, where we all learn from each other and where children and adults continue to explore the world through books.
