Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom consists of 29 inner-city students, with 7 of them being autistic, and an additional 6 who are English language learners. My school does not have available funding to purchase materials that is needed to meet the needs of my special education students, as well as the students who are English language learners. My students are highly motivated and eager to learn, and if given the proper resources, they would be given the chance to be as successful as students in the surrounding suburbs.
My Project
If this project is funded, my students will be able to utilize these Chromebooks to work on the reading program Lexia, the math program Symphony Math, the Internet for research projects/ Google Slides, and Google Docs to type up essays and reports. The possibilities are endless. This project will improve the reading, math, research, and writing skills of my students.
The use of Chromebooks will change their lives by allowing them to use adaptive interactive educational programs that will strengthen the skills they already possess.
Google Docs accessed through the Chromebooks will enhance their written communication skills, which is crucial in a successful education and life. Your donation will greatly impact my third graders, and give them an educational experience they wouldn't experience otherwise in our poorly funded district.
