Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in an urban elementary school where there is a 100% free or reduced price lunch population. The students I teach are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. As economically disadvantaged and English language learners, my students have the odds stacked against them. Despite the many challenges they face, I want to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences that will inspire a lifetime enjoyment of learning.

In my classroom, I focus on students' potential and create an environment where students want to be successful and are successful!

My goal is to provide a caring, nurturing, and healthy environment that is conducive to learning and teaching.

My Project

My students use technology every day. They have to use a computer to access internet based assignments and instructional literacy and mathematics programs. Thanks to generous donors, our class has Chromebooks to use each day. The challenge is keeping the a Chromebooks charged safely and securely.

Having this charging cart would be such an asset to our classroom because students will be able to place their device into their own slot and the charging cart would take care of the rest.

It would be wonderful to know our Chromebooks would be safely locked and stored until the next school day!
