My students are in fifth grade in a public K-8 school in Boston. It's a great place full of engaging teachers. While our students can come from many areas of Boston, many are from Hyde Park, a great, vibrant community. Our school is fully inclusive and the students learn compassion and acceptance as well as academic skills.
As life as moved towards remote learning and students have used Chromebook for educational activities, our classrooms need to keep with the resources.
We really need an additional Chromebook cart to charge all computers and keep them safe when not in use.
My Project
Students will not have to find a place to charge their computer if we have a dedicated charging station. All students would arrive and all of their supplies would be ready for any learning we are going to do. Right now they are piled on top of a cart because they do not all fit in the one cart we have for 48 computers.. This makes it challenging to organize and the Chromebooks are not always ready for students when we need them. Students use Chromebooks for writing, research and supplemental academic programs.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
