Help Us Celebrate our Memoirs with Our Community and Families
My students need 14 table cloths, plates and decorations for a formal dinner to celebrate their memoirs with their families, community members and local politicians.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My ELL tenth grade students are all recent immigrants who are learning English as their second or third language. They are from more than 20 countries and speak more than 6 different languages.
My students are amazing recent immigrants who work part-time, take care of family members, play sports and attend our after-school programs.
Our students' caretakers are kind and supportive mothers, fathers, stepparents, grandparents, aunts and uncles that cannot always make it to our report card nights because of work.
My Project
In early February 2018, 100 sophomores will debut their memoirs in a magazine launch. This is our third year doing the event, and the event typically draws more than 50 family members and 20 community members including local city councillors and nonprofit directors. This event is better attended than our Open Houses because students are eager to celebrate with their families.
Your donation will allow more than 50 immigrant families to celebrate the learning and hard work of our students at a family-school event.
Our high school is a former elementary school that is outdated. We need these decorations and table linens in our school colors (black and gold) to make our multipurpose school room shine for our families. We will use the black table linens to decorate the round tables where students and families will have the communal meal. We will use the gold table linens for the serving tables. We will use the plates to serve the meals to our family, student and community guests, and our students will help decorate the walls beforehand with black and gold streamers and star hangers.
We have received a donation of food for 150 people, but we need your help in decorating the plastic tables and bare walls so that the event feels more formal and special for our school families.
Your donation will let our families, students and community members recognize the students' accomplishments in style.
