My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of potential! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
When trying to decide what club I wanted to start this year, I envisioned something that would transcend the classroom, in case another shut down were to happen.
So, I started my school's first ever photography club.
Our school is nestled in the heart of Pleasant Grove, which was one of the poorest areas in TX.
None of my club members own their own cameras so my goal is to provide each member a camera and supplies needed to make a photography club successful.
My Project
These cameras will be used for our school's first photography club. Since they are digital, students can complete assignments and upload their pictures from school or home.
None of the club members own their own personal camera (outside of a mobile phone) and this will provide a way to learn the skills they need to operate a digital camera.
The microphone will make it more effective to communicate, while wearing PPE. The lamp will provide better lighting during our club meetings in Zoom.
This club provides a creative outlet and exposure to media arts. My goal is to empower my students and this can spark a new hobby or career goal for the club members.
