My students need books to help them cope with bullying and prevent bullying in our school.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Layne's classroom raised $225
This project is fully funded
My Students
I am a school counselor at an elementary school serving pre-K through 4th grade. My school is a high poverty title one school in South Carolina. This year is my second year as a counselor and I do not have a lot of resources to use with my students.
Like many other schools our students experience a fair amount of bullying at our school in all grade levels pre-K-4th grade.
Our students experience bullying in the form of verbal, relational, cyber, and occasionally physical bullying. Our students are in need of bully prevention education to help our school become a more safe and caring place to learn!
My Project
I am requesting a variety of children's books on the topic of bullying. I'd like to use books in classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling to help our students understand what bullying is, learn why it is not an acceptable behavior, and learn skills to deal with bullying in healthy ways. Using books in both teaching and counseling is a very effective technique.
These books are desperately needed to use in classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling to help our students learn about bullying and to help prevent it in our school.
I hope that you consider donating towards this worthy project as it would benefit so many of our students in need and help make our school a safe and caring school!
