My Students
As a school counselor, I have the privilege of working with a wide range of students. The children here at our school show STAR quality in that they Strive for excellence, Treat others with kindness, Accept differences, and Respect others. Every school community needs a safe space that is equipped with the tools necessary to help students socially and emotionally develop so that they can work at their best potential. My students are working on building and forming positive relationships as well as emotion regulation skills. We are committed to increasing our levels of emotional intelligence so that we can be successful learners and meet our goals.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to learn in a new, community-building environment. I want to be able to use the space I have in the most efficient way possible so that it is suitable for all types of learning styles. The SEL cards and storyline materials will be a fantastic addition to our work. The carpet will give us an opportunity to practice spatial awareness as well as encourage interest in learning. These activities will give my students the chance to navigate their social-emotional lens and use the skills gained to achieve academic and overall success!
