Help me give my students books to read in Spanish in order to retain and honor their native language while improving literacy and becoming readers!

My Project

There is nothing more exciting than seeing students look through a bucket of books and find a book that they are curious about, or a book they already love!

But to offer this opportunity we need books in Spanish!

We will create our classroom library in Spanish because our students are first-grade dual immersion students who need exposure to literature in Spanish.

Graphic novels, non-fiction, fiction series; when a student finds a book that piques their curiosity, they find a spot in the classroom to look at illustrations, read-to-themselves, or share with their friends what they like about a story.

Finding books in Spanish is often more difficult as well as more expensive. Literacy in any language is important. Our classroom will focus on a bilingual curriculum in both Spanish and English. Help us build our library in Spanish!
