Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year I began working at a school where there are no teachers specifically for PE. I bought enough paddles and jump ropes so that students could rotate in groups and experience different skills and ways of being active. They had so much fun just being able to practice skills such as dribbling, kicking and rolling a ball. Something as simple as exercising got them excited. I can only imagine how excited they will get when they are able to engage in team sports.
With the limited supplies that I had for my students I saw them enjoy the different activities and grow confidence during PE.
The items in this project will help my students stay active and build teamwork through friendly competitive games. It is difficult to remember who is in what time so the jerseys will make it easier to identify the different teams. The goals will make playing soccer more realistic and provide a better experience than just using cones. The hockey sticks and dodgeball will provide them with the experience of trying new games and build teamwork. The dice will make stretching and exercising more exciting and fun. With your donation you will be helping kids stay active, learn teamwork and develop healthy habits that last a lifetime. Every dollar makes a difference.
