"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow." - John Dewey
Our 3rd grade class wants to engage in technological projects to assist our learning! We need a printer that can showcase our thinking, projects, and work!
As a successful Early Childhood School, we provide a nurturing, yet rigorous community of learning.
Most of our Grade 3 students performed at Level 3 or above on the New York State English Language Arts and Math Assessments - reflecting continued strong performance even against higher testing standards.
Our commitment to differentiated instruction supports students of all ability levels in every classroom by integrating:
â English Language Learners (ELL students)
â English as a Second Language (ESL students)
â Students with Special Needs
â General Education students
Our community is quite diverse with almost 70% of our students coming from homes where English is spoken as a second language. One-fifth of our students receive extra support for learning English. We also provide communication materials to Parents in 4 home languages (English, Chinese, Spanish & Korean).
We are a Title I, NYC Public School & nearly 60% of students qualify for free / reduced lunch.
My Project
The new printer and ink we are requesting will provide myself and the students with an endless amount learning materials! Students will be able to print a variety of resources to help them complete assignments such as research and images. Color printing will help bring their learning and ideas to life; while aiding in their comprehension of a variety of topics.
In an effort to make sure students are meeting the Common Core Standards and are college & career ready, integrating technology in the classroom is essential; and now students will be able to type and print their essays and assignments!
Printing visual aids will also help improve my teaching as I have a large population of English Language Learners in my class.
It is time for us to have a working printer in our classroom that will help prepare students to efficiently and effectively meet the high demand of the technological world we now live in!
The amount of instructional materials I will be able to print and use to engage students will be extremely beneficial to classroom instruction; and students will be thrilled when they see their ideas and work come to life! Help us print today! Thank You!!!
