My students need crayons, markers, colored pencils, construction paper, pencils, and scissors to ensure that they will be able to put creativity into their learning!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Rolli's classroom raised $334

My Students
My students are in a large school district that is strapped for money. They come from families that are sometimes not able to provide everything they need for school. My students love to learn, but sometimes it is hard for them to stay positive when they do not have basic classroom materials.
My students are full of energy!
They enter the classroom in the morning, bursting with excitement and waiting to tell me about what they did the night before. They love to tell me about their football team, or their dance class, and how they are just "the best!" at whatever they do. My school is in an area of high poverty, where most of my students come from difficult home situations. For some, the best part of their day is being in school.
My Project
Last year, I had so many fun activities that I wanted to do with my students, but I never had enough materials to go around. My students will use these materials (crayons, markers, colored pencils, construction paper, pencils, and scissors) to bring creativity into their learning. They stare at black and white pages everyday, and as you can imagine, it is not enjoyable for a young child to lack color or pictures in their daily learning activities. We will be incorporating art into our literacy with these materials, as well as drawings to go along with our writing pieces.
This project will make my students look forward to learning.
I will be able to surprise them with a surprise craft pertaining to our lesson, rather than just completing workbook pages. If my students are able to see how much fun learning can be when you incorporate art, they will be challenged to look deeper into every lesson they learn in the future.
