My Project
This school year, I have a dual role: I am a Reading Interventionist for grades K-3 and a special education case manager for students in grades 1-3. Each day, I have an opportunity to interact with students of all grade levels to teach them strategies in reading while also developing math and writing skills. There is a program that I have been using with each of my students, and I would like for all students in their classes to have the same opportunities for missed instruction.
We are requesting resources that all elementary school teachers in the building will use to support reading development in all of our learners.
The Bridging the Gap Intervention lessons book provides us with scripted lessons for students who are having challenges with phonological and phonemic awareness. These lessons are the perfect interventions for students who need an extra push with phonics and are curated with each of the pillars of reading. The Primary Extension curriculum will provide lessons for students in upper elementary school who are near mastery of missed concepts in reading and who are also in need of a review of concepts from previous grades. Finally, the 1st-grade Primary Curriculum will help our first graders remain on track with reading development to avoid any delays with reading acquisition.
Each resource is designed specifically with our learners in mind and will help close the gap placed on us due to loss of learning. We hope that you will be able to assist our students with having the proper skills for phonemic and phonological development.
