My Students
As teacher in a highly populated ENL District 1 school, my students face many challenges inside and outside the classroom. Despite these challenges, they all come to school every day excited to learn.
Almost all of my students are English Language Learners.
Aside from the rigorous academic work the students are required to do on a daily basis, they are also in the process of learning a new language. Many of the students' parents also speak very limited English and reply on their children for translation. These students have such a great responsibility that most fourth graders wouldn't have.
My Project
My students are such book worms! They love to read Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson books. They are always finding spots on the floor to sit together and read. The book couch would be such a great accessory to our classroom. It would invite more students to sit and discuss their books.
We would love a book stand for all of our chapter books!
Our book baskets are falling apart and are in need of new, bright baskets for our leveled reading books.
