Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year the 7th and 8th grade students at our school are working with urgency each and every day. They understand the importance of a successful middle school career and its connections to success in high school, college, and beyond. They are working to go "To and Through College!"

The students at our school are hardworking and passionate about their education.

The students are primarily from low-income homes and the school provides 100% of students with free lunch. Despite these unfortunately circumstances, the students provide a positive and uplifting environment to the classroom each and every day. They are passionate and caring toward one another and toward learning science. They come to school prepared and are excited to dig deep and explore any challenge that comes their way!

My Project

The middle school students at our school will be able to complete their science fair projects if provided with tri-fold poster boards. The school-wide Science Fair will take place in mid December. The students have been studying the scientific method and have been learning to formulate a hypothesis and differentiate between independent, dependent, and controlled variables. They are passionate about putting this knowledge to use by creating their own science questions and hypotheses. Tri-fold poster boards are necessary in order to enable them to display their hard work to their peers, families, faculty, and science fair judges.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom because it will allow the students to present their work to their peers.

It will motivate the students to give 100% of their effort in designing and carrying out all tasks toward completion of their projects. Lastly, this will enable students to have the opportunity to qualify for the state-wide science fair at the Museum of Science and Industry. WOW! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the students!
