My Students

My students are currently in grades kindergarten through the fourth grade. They enjoy learning new things and exploring the world around them. They are an exceptional group of students that require individualized and specialized instruction to meet their educational needs.

My students learn best using a variety of instructional modes- visual, auditory, and kinesthetic just to name a few.

They are remarkable group of students that each bring their own unique perspective and strengths to our learning community. Together we focus on making progress with a positive attitude even through our mistakes!

My Project

Everyday we use the basic math skills we learned in elementary school to perform normal daily activities such as cooking, shopping, managing finances, and decorating just to name a few. By donating to this project, you are helping provide the funds needed for me to purchase a gift card from Teachers Pay Teachers. The gift card will be enable me to purchase hands-on, real-world based instructional activities for students struggling with math and/or who have been diagnosed with a learning disability. Research shows that the use of cooperative learning and hands on activities are extremely beneficial to learning. These activities along with the small group setting will allow students to actively practice math skills in a fun and exciting way that can not always be duplicated in the general education setting. The goal of this project is to assist these students in developing a solid foundation of math skills which is crucial to providing them with the education they need to achieve their dreams for the future.
