My students need math manipulatives, number dice, practice boards, and clipboards to help them learn in a comfortable environment.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Bagley's classroom raised $433

My Students
Do you remember beginning school and learning to add and subtract? Do you remember learning place value? Math can sometimes be the most frustrating and confusing subject for elementary students. I don't want that for my bright, young mathematicians. I want them to know how fun it can be!
My second graders are amazing students.
They are such hard working students and they love to learn new things. They especially love math! I feel like students who love math are a rare thing these days. I don't want them to lose that desire they have to become great mathematicians. We are a title one school so funding is low. There have been many times when I know my students would understand a lesson better if we just had the materials!
My Project
These math manipulatives will be used to fit into many math lessons this year. Place value is always a difficult concept to teach when you don't have place value blocks. It is much more beneficial when each student has some of their own. The clipboards will be a great way for students to work independently at math centers. Teaching students about number lines and how they can use them to add and subtract is most effective when each student has one at their desk.
These new items will fuel that desire my students have to become great mathematicians.
They will have the opportunity to use hands-on materials that can turn a rather boring lesson into a fun, effective math activity!
