My Students
I teach kindergarten in a Title I School. I have students from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, many of whom do not have the resources to purchase learning tools and books in their homes. My students need opportunities to engage in hands-on learning in my classroom. Research has shown that students grow in their oral language, problem solving and cognitive development when they engage in purposeful play. I am passionate about providing engaging opportunities for all of my students to learn!
My Project
In Kindergarten, it is critical that students develop a deep understanding of numbers! We spend a lot of time on quantity and counting. The ETA Hand2mind Fluency kit would help us to become more fluent in our math skills. The more fluent we become the quicker we catch on to computation as we grow and learn. This kit would assist me as a teacher in understanding what my students need and how to help them achieve it. The tools included in the kit are visual and tactile which helps young learners grasp a deeper understanding of number concepts! Thank you for your consideration in this project!
