My Students

My students are captivated by the wonders of the Universe. Now they need the tools to reach out and touch them!

This is the year I want to ensure that my students have the opportunity to become astronomers.

Anyone who has taken an astronomy class can relate in saying that one of the most exciting and engaging parts is peering through the lens of a telescope. I want to be able to give my students this opportunity that they are currently missing out on. My students come from a diverse high school with just under three thousand students. They are eager to participate in hands- on astronomy. Students have been persistently asking "When are we going to do a lab Mr. Marvin?" Your donation will allow my students to have this experience.

My Project

This project requests three Celestron computerized telescopes. With these telescopes I plan to integrate night labs into the curriculum, as well as organize astronomy nights for students to present their skills to their fellow students, parents and members of the community. Students will be able to get first hand experience learning and exploring the night sky by viewing stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies.

With your help my students will receive the first hand experience they've been longing for.

I want to change the opinion of those students who dislike science because they have difficulty understanding. Working with telescopes hands-on is one of the best ways to promote understanding among students. Your generous donation will create this experience for my students and allow them to be ASTRONOMERS.
