My Project

Imagine working for months on music and choreography. My young music students dedicate their time both in school and at home to memorizing lyrics, learning movements, practicing expressive performance, mastering instrumental parts, and building the confidence to step on stage. But when dress rehearsal arrives, a major problem becomes clear: many of them can’t be seen or heard because they’re all standing on the same level. We’re left scrambling to “make things work.”

Every young musician deserves the chance to be seen and heard—on stage, in rehearsal, and in the classroom.

That’s why we’re requesting a flipFORM riser. It’s a sturdy, three-tiered platform that will finally let all my students be visible and confident during performances, as well as improve the acoustics of their sound. Even better, it’s designed to flip into a bench, so we can use it for small groups, instrument practice, or centers. The built-in wheels make it easy for me to move it around the room—or even to another part of the school when needed.

This project will fund one flipFORM riser, which holds about 12–16 students, depending on their size and age. It’s the first step toward building a full set that can support our entire choir.
