Help Us Be Prepared For Our First Musical Theater Performance!
Help me give my students microphone, PA system, sound board, and other necessary sound equipment to help our performance of Disney Musicals in Schools, "The Lion King, Kids", become a great success!
We are a top performing leadership academy, educating all-girls from grades Pre-K to 8th, with over 350 students. Our school prioritizes academics, leadership, collaboration and opportunities for real-world experiences. We are a strong community of scholars, located in a large urban area and most students come from families with significant needs.
Our special school has a daily mission to create future lady leaders that are competent, confident and compassionate!
Since our lady leaders come from low-income neighborhoods with very diverse backgrounds and cultures, we find it important to offer a variety of creative, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. This year, our students have been fortunate enough to be chosen to be a part of Disney Musicals in Schools! We are preparing for our first production of "The Lion King, Kids" this March 2020! This musical theater experience has offered our lady leaders new opportunities in public speaking, collaboration, socialization, creativity, confidence, and has given all children a voice.
My Project
Please help us "be prepared" as we produce our first musical theater project, Disney’s, "The Lion King Kids"! We have proudly been selected to participate in our first Disney Musicals in Schools production. Our performance of "The Lion King Kids" will happen on March 7, 2020. In addition to our school’s stage performance, students will have the unique and thrilling experience to also perform on the “BIG STAGE” of Cleveland's Playhouse Square on March 16, 2020! This exciting opportunity will help to bring to life the characters, props, and sets necessary for our school’s first musical theater production! Our school does not have a functional sound system. We are in great need of sound equipment to help our show become a great success! Wireless microphones, a sound mixer board, and various speakers will help our young actresses be clearly heard in this production, and in shows to come in the future!
Our ultimate goal is to make this Disney Musicals in Schools Program sustainable for years to come, and with your generosity, we can begin to fill our school with the necessary stage equipment that will build a strong community of learners with a genuine love for the arts and musical theater!
