My Students

The students at our school are smart, energetic and love learning new things! We are a Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade school. I teach First grade! Our school is very close to being considered Title I, but not officially so we do not receive additional funding above our regular budget. We have about 63% of our students who receive free and reduced lunch rates. I have invested a lot of my own money to help prepare my students succeed in academics and college and career readiness. Our school strives to create an environment of rich learning and acceptance. Our teachers work hard to create an atmosphere that is encouraging and inspiring! Our student's love our school. There are 55 elementary campuses in our district and our school consistently ranks in the top 10 academically.

My Project

The use of number line sliders and write on and off number lines will allow students the chance to learn how to add and subtract with visuals and we are saving the Earth by not wasting paper! I plan to use these with individual students and during small group.

In the future we will eventually be a STEM school.

The "OSMO Genius Kit" will help 1st grade students foster and develop creative thoughts using pattern shapes, digital images, and see how technology and math can go hand in hand by helping us become problem solvers and achievers for tomorrow's jobs!
