My students need book baskets, fadeless paper rolls, dry erase circles and whisper phones for our guided reading area.

All of my budding readers are English Language Learners from 8 different countries. They enjoy learning to read and often try to sneak a read in their library books at every opportunity they get, which secretly makes me smile!
Our building is the oldest school building in the city, but we all do our part to make it a clean, vibrant and safe environment for our students.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My diverse, inner-city students come from all backgrounds and countries, and this year all thirty of them are English Language Learners. My students have an eagerness in them to learn English and grow no matter their circumstances, which makes me strive even more to bring them the beneficial resources they deserve.
These resources will help my students use our reading area more effectively. They will easily be able to find books to read that are on their correct reading level because books will be sorted into the bins with color- coded labels. The fadeless paper will be used on our shelves to cover our chipped paint. The whisper phones are a wonderful tool for children to hear themselves read. They even help the shy reader gain confidence by becoming accustomed to hearing his or her own voice. The phones are successful for a variety of ability levels, and help to support emerging readers' sound blending and more advanced readers' fluency. Right now, we only have a few so most students do not get to use them when they are on the carpet reading. The dry erase decals can stick to the floor and wall around the reading area so I can have students stop and jot their notes or favorite quotes from their books on them to share with the class. These resources will help amp up our reading!
By donating to this project, you are directly helping students to use our reading area more easily and effectively.
As English Language Learners, my students are still learning the fundamentals of reading and our reading library should be a place to easily navigate and find books that are on their reading level to encourage them to read. The whisper phones will help them to self monitor and the dry erase decals will help them to stop and share their favorite parts of their books! Please help!
