Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I hope, at some point in your life, you came across a book that changed your whole world.
Many of my students have not had this experience yet. I have a great batch of students who love to read, but their exposure to great books is limited. These students would love to be able to read great books, but many of the books I have for them are incomplete pieces of larger series.
My Project
If this project gets funded, it will fill in the gaps of the series that I already have on the shelves for them. So, instead of just being able to read, for example, books 3 and 5 of the series, the students can start at the beginning and really become involved in the book's world. It will also just give them more variety, which means that it is more likely that they will pick up a book and read. It will allow them to have more choice in what they want to read, and that is the best way to get students to become voracious readers.
My students really do love to read, and they will voraciously read anything they can get their hands on. You can help make sure that they have access to a wide variety of books that just might change their lives.
