My Students
My school is fed by five elementary schools representing very diverse communities of San Francisco, from the ocean to the bay. I can't describe how excited I am to be teaching these wonderful kids! Driving this excitement is my primary goal of working together with each and every student and family to ensure they receive the best teaching and resources I can provide.
My Project
The students in my music wheel classes are learning to read music, pluck and strum melodies and harmonies on ukuleles, and to sing. Going forward, it would be wonderful to add some hand percussion instruments to fill out our sound and to practice our rhythms.
Hand percussion make wonderful instruments for beginning musicians!
Where the ukuleles can be challenging for some beginning students, hand percussion instruments such as bells, claves, maracas, and shakers are easy for everyone to learn and would add a tremendous world music texture to our songs.
