Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Third grade is such a fun and challenging school year for most students. Many of the students I work with come from low income and poverty stricken homes. These students face unique challenges at home. At school, students are transitioning into learners that are capable and expected to complete more complex tasks. My students have such a positive attitude about learning, and love coming to school everyday.
Perseverance is a pivotal part of our classroom community.
Despite the challenges my students face, they come to school eager to learn. As their teacher, I consider it my responsibility to instill the belief in all of my students that they are capable of great things!
My Project
Illnesses spread very quickly through classrooms. Materials such as disinfectant wipes, antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant spray will help stop the spread of illnesses. An air purifier would be an excellent asset in fighting germs and keeping student's heathy.
My goal is to eliminate as many absences due to illness for my students as possible.
Attendance plays a huge role in student's success at school. Students are more likely to do well at school both academically and socially when attendance is consistent.
Students will be educated on the importance of healthy habits such as proper hand washing and keeping their area clean in the classroom. These are skills that will last a lifetime. It is important that my classroom is a clean and safe place for my students!
