Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am truly blessed and lucky to get to teach a great group of thirty-four diverse and unique students every day. It's amazing to see how much my students grow from the beginning of the year to the end. Many of my students come to school carrying heavy burdens, but still manage to put that aside, share a smile, and have an eagerness for learning. It fills my heart with joy not to just be able to help my students become scholars, but to also become kind little people.
My Project
I would love to be able to attend the Get Your Teach On: Best Practices to Engage & Inspire Students & Teachers National Conference. I believe that students learn best when they are engaged and challenged. Many people think teachers are lucky because they have summers off, but many do not realize that we spend our summers attending trainings or conferences to try to make us better educators. In the teaching profession, new strategies are always being developed, and I would like to stay on top of the best ways to engage my students. I am looking forward to attending sessions such as: Dare to STEAM The Tech Toolbox, and Rock Your Math Block. When you share the love of teaching with other positive teachers who feel the same, that positive energy carries on to our classrooms.
