My Project

Throughout our school, our students came back from remote learning behind standard in reading. All year we have focused heavily on reading- intervention groups, sight word flash cards, silent reading, read alouds, kids videotaping themselves reading aloud. Any way we could imagine, we had kids reading. With a huge amount of work from families, staff and mostly KIDS, their reading started to move, then it started to cruise and now they are OFF. The students in my class are reading constantly now- during free-time, at recess, in class. They read on bean bags and at their desks. They tell each other about their books and they are tearing through my library. The books in this grant are meant to widen the selection of books available and keep them motivated and learning. I believe that over the next few months they will continue to soar and then these books will be ready for next year's group to devour.
