My 6th graders are bright and inquisitive students who love to learn the social studies curriculum. However, teaching history can often be sporadic in today's education. The best way to remedy this inconsistency is through the reading of historical fiction literature.

The storytelling is captivating and helps students sympathize with the characters. This book is the perfect class read-aloud that elicits important conversation about this time period.
