Mrs. Moore, I need another pencil, paper, or notebook. These are the requests I hear from the students in my class daily. The students are required to produce more class work than ever before because of the new curriculum. My goal is to make sure my students have what they need to succeed.
My students are very eager to learn anything that peaks their interest.
Getting them to settle down to complete their class work is never a challenge because they enjoy learning. Supplies this year has been a challenge because not many families donated to the classroom supplies. Also the supplies from the administration were very limited.
My Project
The students will use the notebooks, paper, pens, and pencils in every subject I teach: Math, Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts, etc. The students will use these supplies to fulfill the task that is required for the subject. We have an Author Study project that will start in a couple of weeks and the notebooks will come in handy as well as the markers when they complete the artwork.
By supplying my students with these materials a difference will be made on their finished projects in all subjects.
It breaks my heart when I have to explain to a student that I don't have enough supplies to give them. I can see a little shine being faded from their eagerness. No child should ever feel like their success is limited because supplies are not available. I do the best that I can but unfortunately I cannot afford to supply my students with the basics, I need help.
