My Project
Hello! This is my very first year teaching high school English in Worcester, Massachusetts. I'd like to design a unit for my 11th graders based around memoir. My students will need to begin writing their college essays soon, so teaching this novel would really help them begin to understand and practice self-expression. I think Fun Home would be a perfect text to teach in this unit, especially because of the visual elements included. This would be greatly beneficial to many of my students who have learning disabilities or are still in the process of learning English. I would be so grateful for thw opportunity to expose my students to this wonderful book!
